A modern oil refinery is a complex production facility where crude oil is processed to produce motor and energy fuel, lubricants and other types of valuable petroleum products. The multi-stage nature of the processes and the close connection between all stages of production make it vulnerable to even minor deviations from the norm, which can affect the quality of the manufactured products.
As part of the modernization of the Fergana Oil Refinery, one of the key projects is the construction of a new centralized laboratory. It will meet modern standards and requirements, which will significantly increase the accuracy and efficiency of the tests.
Differences between existing and new laboratory
If we strive to implement modern standards also in the field of analytical control on the basis of mastering the production of new types of oil products of class Euro 5 and API , then the old laboratory has limited capabilities in the volume and type of tests. Its equipment will not allow for a full range of necessary analyses and studies. The new laboratory, unlike the old one, will be equipped with more than 90 units of modern analytical and testing equipment from leading manufacturers such as Shimadzu , Mettler Toledo , Koehler Instrument Company , Cannon Instrument Company and others.
Main characteristics of the new laboratory
The new three-storey building with an area of 12,096 m² and dimensions of 240 x 504 m is designed for 180 work places and will include :
- Technical control laboratory (TCL) - for analytical control of hydrocarbons at all stages of the production process, including quality control of raw materials, intermediate and finished products.
- Metrological laboratory of instrumentation and automation - for metrological verification and repair of control and measuring instruments.
- Laboratory for testing electrical equipment – incoming inspection and testing.
To ensure reliable operation, the laboratory will be equipped with autonomous power supply and climate control systems, as well as special gas supply systems such as oxygen, argon, helium, propane, acetylene and nitrogen.
The main objective of the laboratory
Quality control of products at all stages of production is a priority for the new laboratory. It will conduct tests of all types of petroleum products envisaged for development within the framework of the FNPZ modernization project. This will strengthen control over product quality, optimize the time for analysis and increase the accuracy in assessing the quality of both intermediate and final products for compliance with regulatory requirements.
Progress and Prospects
At present, the design is 95% complete, the equipment delivery is 39%, and the construction and installation works are 31% complete. The general contractor is the company " Enter Engineering ", and the design is carried out by specialists of "UZLITI Engineering ". Commissioning is scheduled for 2025.
"The construction of a new laboratory is an important element of the plant's modernization, providing a new level of control and analytical capabilities. This will increase the competitiveness of products and create conditions for compliance with the strict requirements of the consumer market", - said Deputy director for the implementation of modernization and reconstruction Ikboljon Rakhimov.
