Ferghana Refinery oils have received the European REACH quality registration

Base oils produced at the Fergana Refinery have successfully passed the registration process under the European REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) procedure. The regulation regulates the production and circulation of all chemicals on the territory of the member states of the European Union and is a safety data sheet for chemicals, including petroleum products, used in the EU.

Registration in accordance with the REACH regulation is a necessary condition for the import of base oils into the EU for the purpose of their further sale to end consumers. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) oversees compliance with the regulation.

“Obtaining REACH was made possible thanks to the implementation of a comprehensive program to improve the quality of base oils produced by Saneg and our oil business operator, SEG Motol. The strategic vision is to actively enter the European market, as well as the implementation of an ambitious program to create a line of industrial and automotive oils that meet international quality standards”, -  said Saneg CEO Tulkin Yusupov.

Thanks to changes in technological regimes, replacement of catalysts in installations, and modernization of equipment, it was possible to increase the depth of purification of oil products from sulfur, nitrogen, aromatic hydrocarbons and resinous asphaltenous substances, which negatively affected a number of oil characteristics. In particular, indicators such as carcinogen content, flash point, volatility, and color were given in accordance with European standards.

As a result of passing the European procedure, the base oils of the Fergana Refinery were recognized as meeting the ECHA requirements for SN (solvent neutral) type oils of viscosity 150 and 350, which allows SN-150 and SN-350 products produced by the Federal Refinery to enter the European market. In addition, this is an important step towards the involvement of base oils in the production of commercial products at the Italian production site in Bari - Saneg Oil Italy, which acted as the operator of the project to obtain REACH registration.
